Mindful Movement: Integrating Movement and Somatic Practices in the Classroom and Beyond

Workshop Overview: In this engaging and interactive workshop, educators and early childhood educators will have the opportunity to learn how to effortlessly incorporate mindfulness and movement practices into their classrooms. They will explore somatic activities, breathwork, and mindfulness techniques specifically designed for children, creating a warm and inclusive learning environment. Through fun and playful activities, educators will discover the joy of emphasizing somatic movement, fostering self-regulation and promoting awareness of the nervous system based on polyvagal theory.

Workshop Objectives:

  1. Understand the importance of movement in promoting self-regulation and nervous system awareness.
  2. Learn somatic activities and games that promote mindful movement and body awareness for children.
  3. Explore breathwork techniques to help children regulate their emotions and energy levels.
  4. Discover everyday mindfulness practices that can be seamlessly integrated into daily routines.
  5. Gain an understanding of the nervous system and polyvagal theory and its relevance to self-regulation in children.
