Workshop Overview:
In this engaging and interactive workshop, educators and early childhood educators will learn how to integrate mindfulness and movement practices into their classrooms to build resilience and support nervous system regulation. Participants will explore breathwork, mindful movement, and self-regulation techniques designed for children, creating a warm, inclusive, and focused learning environment.
Through fun and playful activities, educators will discover how mindfulness and movement can enhance self-regulation, foster emotional resilience, and deepen students’ awareness of their nervous system. By understanding the nervous system through the lens of polyvagal theory, educators will gain insights into using this awareness to change behaviours, promote emotional regulation, and create a calm, resilient classroom environment.
An essential part of the workshop also focuses on building nervous system capacity for educators and other adults in the classroom. This capacity supports effective co-regulation with students and creates a sense of felt safety that enhances emotional resilience for both educators and children.
